WHAT'S AT STAKE
                A Widespread Phenomenon

For the past several years, automobile theft has struck hard at industrialized countries and, unfortunately, Québec has not been spared from this scourge. The repercussions of automobile theft extend well beyond the claims paid by insurance companies; they involve a serious societal problem crime and all the social costs associated with it.

For more than ten years, the GAA has been trying to find solutions to the problem of automobile theft in Québec, in order to reduce theft and the costs related to it. During this period, the GAA has redoubled its efforts in the fight against this blight through awareness campaigns, operations to mark vehicles and, ultimately, through its involvement in projects such as CERVO (Contrôle sur l'exportation et recel de véhicules outre-mer).
